You know why I've put on hold the D language file type association project? It's 'cause I've realised that .exe binaries produced by D language compiler do not work without msvcr120.dll shared library which is completely closed source is not preinstalled, and is distributed by Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (vc_redist.exe) and to be installed before launching any D language .exe binaries.

You also can't statically link a shared .dll library. Which means, you really have to make self extractable executable to make a binary self sustaining in the Windows "natural" environment. Sure, you can try to hack around and include the msvcr120.dll shared library into binary, but really it's just a cheat code or a guess game of reverse engineering that is not worth it so far. I ain't going to develop some nonstandard unstable feature for D language, just to include some propiertary redistributable garbage from Microsoft that should have been open sourced. Also, that .dll makes your binaries 949kb larger. I think there is a way to avoid using msvcr120.dll shared library I've tested some, but not sure how far functionality can go without depending on the msvcr120.dll. So to not burn myself out, I've slipped the focus towards something that is now a simplier browser project with HTML, CSS, Pure JavaScript and Python with SQL. Sure, it's better to not expect that I'll ever make anything good and production ready. Still there is some chance to that, and I enjoy what I do for now. (edited)
